Vintage Strong Beer Fest 2012 !!!!

Vintage Strong Beer Fest 2012. On Saturday, February 11th from Noon to 5pm, Delilah’s (2771 N. Lincoln – (773) 472-2771) hosts its Fourteenth annual vintage beer festival. More than one hundred beers, primarily strong ales and live beers, from over 50 breweries will be tasted – side by side, for the first time ever in Chicago – many in multiple vintages.

Regionally, Three Floyds, Goose Island, Capitol, Two Brothers, Half Acre, New Holland, Central Waters, Bell’s & Lakefront Brewing will be represented, and many of these brewers will be in attendance.

Strong ales have been traditionally brewed during and for the winter and early spring months and are quite suitable for aging – often being brewed a year before release. Many of the ales for this tasting will be sampled in vintage with a few vintage verticals and there will be an emphasis on barrel aged beers – the J.W. Lees Harvest Ale, for instance, will be available from the 2004 vintage aged in used Lagavulin Scotch Barrels. There will be a King & Barnes Festive Ale from 1997 plus ten vintages of Sierra Nevada’s Bigfoot Barley Wine.

A very unique experience to sample all these strong beers together – along with vintage dated brews including: Anchor Old Foghorn, Avery Hog Heaven, Thomas Hardy’s Ale, George Gale’s Prize Old Ale, Scotland’s Skull Splitter, Portland Brewing Adam Barley Wine, Dog Fish Head Immort Ale, Trois Pistoles & La Fin Du Monde from Unibroue, Malheur Brut, Capitol Blonde Dopplebock – multiple vintages, Two Brothers Bear Tree Weiss Wine, Maredsous 8, EKU 28, and the French Belzebuth, Rogue Ales Imperial Porter 2008. Explore the rocky edge of the generation gap as cultures clash when NYC businessman Bill Compton accidently kills his daughter’s hippie-junkie-drug dealing boyfriend. A by chance meeting at a bar brings Compton in contact with the loudmouthed, bigoted, factory worker Joe. Watching the news, and remembering their encounter, Joe puts two and two together and sees Compton as a kindred spirit. Looking up Compton, Joe joins search for the runaway daughter in New York’s counter culture, the East Village’s drug scene, and finally upstate at a hippie commune, with tragic results.

And soon an underwater mining team’s deep sea base becomes a battleground as they fight to destroy a mind-controlling parasite. Unable to tell friend from foe, the paranoia deepens as the slowly dwindling number of team members make a more horrific realization…what if this monster makes it top-side?!?

American scientist, Dr. Larry Forbes heads to France to meet with his fiancée, Madeline Renault. She is the niece of famed scientist Dr. Renault. Dr. Renault is a firm believer that man is a descendant of ape. And unknown to Forbes and Madeline, Dr. Renault has a twisted plan to prove his belief. We all know the world will eventually be ruled by apes – but how did it get there? This cautionary tales answers that question for us. New York cop Joe Dylanne gets a call from his former girl Katy – she needs help. He goes to California and discovers is that Katy’s family is under attack by a group of vicious marijuana growers lead by the town’s corrupt sheriff. And they will stop at nothing to protect their secret.

Mark Kaminski is forced to resign from the FBI and he winds up as the sheriff of a small town in North Carolina. One day, his friend Harry from the FBI shows up looking for some help – his son died in a mob hit on a safe house. Harry figures there is a mole in the FBI tipping off the mob as to where the informers are hidden. So he goes undercover and when his cover is blown Mark must practice his own type of swift justice.
