Ardbeg & Glenmorangie – The Rebirth and The Innovations

Virtual Whisky Tasting

January 16, 2021
2:00pm - 4:00pm

Whiskey Tastings to think about just in time for The New Year!  Starting in January and most likely once a week for the next few months, Delilah’s will be hosting a series of virtual Whiskey tastings with some of our dearest Whiskey industry friends.  We’ll be sampling some exciting new and often rare and in many cases extinct Whiskies.  Here are the first two tastings to be announced – if you would like to participate send an email to Mike@delilahschicago.com and we will arrange your sample pickup or delivery.  A limited number of tasting kits will be available for each tasting so please sign up soon!

Ardbeg & Glenmorangie – The Rebirth and The Innovations.  The first tasting of this new series is on Saturday, January 16th at 2pm CST with infamous Whisky aficionado and occasional Delilah’s DJ Dan Crowell along with Lindsey Johnson from Glenmorangie, Ardbeg’s Cameron George and new Ardbeg distillery manager Colin Gordon – joining us from Islay!  We will be tasting an unprecedented lineup of both Glenmorangie and Ardbeg Whiskies.  Our focus for this tasting will be on sampling the very rare first Whiskies produced at Ardbeg after it’s reopening – the Road To Peaty Maturity series - Ardbeg Very Young, Ardbeg Still Young and Ardbeg Almost There, all distilled in 1998 and all issued in very limited supplies to begin with!  Next up will be the latest releases from Ardbeg - so we can see how things have transpired in the last twenty years, by tasting their latest age statement Whisky - Ardbeg 19yr Traigh Bhan Batch Two and the newest and very limited release Ardbeg Blaaack - matured in New Zealand Pinot Noir Casks!  We will be tasting the Glenmorangie Whiskies with a similar kind of focus by tasting the very hard to find first ever examples of “finished” Whiskies created by Dr. Bill Lumsden over twenty years ago!  We will be tasting the original Glenmorangie Sherry Wood Finish and the original Glenmorangie Port Wood Finish next to the current Glenmorangie Lasanta (finished in Sherry casks) and the Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban (finished in port pipes)!  We will complete this round with the latest finishing experiment by sampling the Limited Edition Glenmorangie A Tale Of Cake – finished in Hungarian Tokaji casks!  A once in a lifetime kind of a lineup!  The cost for this tasting is $200.
