Bill Smith, while investigating the crash of two jumbo jets, stumbles upon Louise, and agent from a despoiled future Earth. She has returned to retrieve a device she left behind at the crash site. In the future, the Earth is sterile and dying. Its only hope rests in the retrieval of those about to die in the present to live out their life in the future. But has their contact jeopardized the very future she is trying to save?
